Over the last few years, I have become fascinated by the music of Morton Feldman. Though his music is rather abstract and perhaps even frustrating for some, the sprawling soundscapes Feldman creates in pieces such as Piano and String Quartet, Triadic Memories, and Patterns in a Chromatic Field have been the source of much inspiration for me in my own writing. Despite this, I have yet to attempt merging his compositional style with the style of Saxophone driven prog-rock/metal that I have been developing over the last several years (See: Middle American Schizm (2021), Reconcile Our Differences (2021) and Home (Ocean Skies - 2021) for examples).

This EP represents the first attempt I have made to create music that uses some of his methods and compositional language in a jazz/prog/rock setting. When writing the 16-page score that became the 28-minute piece of music I tried to borrow some of my favorite concepts from Feldman's work while combining them with heavy guitar riffs and drums that bear the tone qualities of modern metal. Though this EP contains 5 separate tracks, they all form 1 continuous piece of music.
